About the Event
Join McRae Learning Center for the Second Annual Honorable Collins Pettaway, Jr. Scholarship Celebration on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wallace Community College Selma. This special luncheon fundraiser supports scholarships and helps bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of providing high-quality early childhood education for children ages 12 months through eight years old.
The celebration will honor several distinguished individuals whose leadership, service, and commitment to education have made a lasting impact on the Selma community. Honorees include Dr. Charles F. Desmond, Robert J. Hildreth, Faya Ora Rose Toure' Sanders, Senator Hank Sanders, Sadie Moss, Sarah Nixon, and Carrie Watters.
Tickets are $75 per person, and a variety of sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals, businesses, and community leaders who wish to invest in the future of Selma's children:
