About the Event
The Board of Directors of McRae-Gaines Learning Center invites you to a special evening in Birmingham to honor two remarkable leaders and support a powerful cause.
At the First Annual Honorable Collins Pettaway, Jr. Scholarship Celebration, we will recognize the outstanding contributions of Senator Robert Stewart and Civil Rights Attorney Leroy Maxwell, both proud natives of Selma, Alabama. Their tireless efforts to advance education and opportunity for underserved communities embody the values of McRae-Gaines and its mission.
This event also marks the official launch of the Hon. Collins Pettaway, Jr. Scholarship Fund, created to help close the $1,000-per-child tuition gap for students at McRae-Gaines Learning Center.
Hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and refreshments will be served throughout the evening as we celebrate these inspiring leaders and the future of education in our community.
